Study Abroad Course
IDIS350m/n/p: Holocaust Memory in Germany / Austria / Poland
Explore how European countries directly affected by the Holocaust are dealing with the memory of this event by visiting a number of exemplary memorial sites in Germany, Austria, or Poland. We are changing the destination each year in a three-year cycle. The course also provides insides into the art and culture of the host country. The course is open to all students for one UMW credit, but recommended to students of history, human rights, and art as well as to students in German 485E and the Freshman Seminar FSEM 100H4 “Holocaust and its representation in German and U.S. cultures.”
See below for more specific information for each course and pictures from trips past.
